Emma’s POV

“Gray and Lily are acting weird.” I told Chase.

“Is that so?” He asked, seeming so unconcerned.

“Yeah. I wanted to sit by them and they were so hostile.” Replaying it in my head made me almost want to cry.

Heartbreaks were bad, but friendship breakups too were somewhere on that list of things that could make someone go mad.

“Did they say anything?” Gray asked.

“Anything like what?” I had a sneaky feeling that he knew something, but Chase wasn’t a really readable person.

“I don’t know. Something out of the ordinary?” He asked. He was so engrossed in his food, one would’ve thought that it wasn’t his best friend we were talking about.
