Wren POV

“This is Mitch.”

A shudder runs down my spine at the very familiar voice that comes through Ray’s speaker.

Clay types on the computer in the backseat.

“Keep him talking,” he mouths.

“The president of Outlaws, right?” Ray asks.

“Yes.”

He gives me a wide eyed look and I shrug. I don’t know what he should say, not when Mitch is being very straight forward.

“EJ!” Torch suggests in a whisper. “Ask about EJ.”

“Can I help you? You’re wasting my time.” Mitch’s impatient voice comes in again.

Ray frowns, then caves. “Where’s EJ?”

“Who the fuck is that?”

“Ezra Jax.”

The line goes quiet, there’s a shuffle at the end and then he comes back.

“You must be Ray,” he drawls. “Your VP is with me.”

“Let him go, Mitch.”

“Now, why would I do that? You know what? I have an idea…” More shuffle on the line.
