Chapter 107. Loud Rumble

"I need you," I say, echoing the same words I told Izaac, but this time it feels more genuine. Lexcis is all I need.

I can see the internal struggle in him as his eyes soften. Determined, I continue.

"Please hold me. Since we decided not to see each other, I understand if you do not want to. Please stay here at least. I am afraid to be alone, so I am in this cabin—"

That seems to be all he needs. He steps towards me, taking the pillow out of my hands and enveloping me in his arms.

I wrap mine around his neck, burying my face into his shirt. Somehow, I find myself sitting on his lap, legs around his waist, while tears stream down my face.

Terrified that releasing him will make him run away again, I hold on tight.

His face is hidden in my neck as he reassures me, "I am here, sweetheart. It's all right."

His words immediately calm me. He holds so much power over me, and it scares me.
