He pulls me close to his chest, wrapping his arms around me effortlessly. As his hands find their way into my hair, I yearn for the moment to stretch into eternity.
After a brief pause, I encircle his back with my arms. Noticing his bare chest, I refrain from reaching for a non-existent shirt.
Leading me to his bed, my tears subside. The disarray mirrors Izaac's character, and as I lay down, the scent of him envelops me in the sheets and pillows.
Inhaling deeply, I burrow myself into his blankets. Despite his embrace, the comfort I crave eludes me; a sense of safety remains elusive in his arms.
Yet, he is Izaac. His presence has the power to uplift and soothe. That's who we are.
He takes hold of my waist, pulling me close until my back meets his warm chest.
Any lingering anger dissipates. I find it impossible to stay mad at him.
