Chapter 134. Impossible Decision

I am relieved that my brother and the others refrain from raising their hands. I can sense the internal struggle they are facing. She denied them what they requested.

The question is posed again, but this time in reverse. Laurence encounters a bit of difficulty, yet he refrains from raising his hand as well.

"I knew you guys were going to be dull," she remarks. As a result, she decides to question the lovers. She smiles.

"Who dies?" she directs the question to me first. "Is it you or the love of your life?"

Knowing that Lexcis and I love each other seems to satisfy her. If I can demonstrate that we don't, she might consider another approach. However, Lexcis is ahead of me, aware that we must hurt each other to save each other.

"You can kill him."

She laughs and retorts, "I thought The Raven would be better. Are you sure? So easy to give up your man?"
