Chapter 163. Own Jail

When I walked back into the castle, it felt like I was going back to my own jail. Even though I know we will be safe here, I do not like being here.

"We will be safe, though, as long as Chantel and I do not try to kill each other again. That is what got us into trouble before." I sighed, staring at the imposing walls that surrounded us.

I do not think we will try to act that quickly. Even though she said she wouldn't, she is doing everything she can to push me away.

She is too scared. For what reason, I am not sure.

We are both hiding out in the library. She stays away from Veronica, and I stay away from Laurence.

His thoughts have been bugging me. A lot of what he says is true, but I do not want to hear it. One example is that he makes me write to my fake father. You could call it a show of power.

He also wants me to get married, saying that the engagement is good, but marriage would make our relationship stronge
