This made him stop for a second. He spoke to the man in a low voice and then moved out of the way. The man ran away without taking his hand with him.

When Lexcis turned around to look at me again, I was nervously chewing on the other candy apple, as if I had not just thrown it at his head.

"Firstly, are you okay?" he asked me first, which did not really surprise me.

Right now, I did not trust what I was saying, so I just nodded. There were times when Lexcis was even more violent than this, but this made me feel worse.

"Okay. Did you throw me an apple?"

I gave another nod.

"Alright."

He thought for a moment before saying, "Let us go."

That was our day.
