I can feel Lexcis smile against my skin; he caresses my cheek and runs his fingers over my hair. It would be impossible to run them through it since my hair is a mess.

I'm about to say something when Lexcis shushes me, "Sleep now," he whispers, his voice a gentle command.

"Yes, your majesty," I smile softly, feeling his hand on my waist tighten as he presses a kiss against my neck.

"Now," he urges, and I can't help but smile as I nuzzle into him entirely, closing my eyes and letting myself fall asleep.

I have no idea how many hours have passed, but I wake up to Lexcis's gentle voice and kisses. "Wake up, Chantel," he whispers to me, his lips moving all over my neck, coaxing me back to consciousness. I keep my eyes closed, enjoying this moment for a while. "Am I still dreaming?"
