I remain silent, my mind racing to come up with something comforting or witty to say.

"I'm sorry if I ruined our date."

"What? No! Of course not. Look," I say, holding up the necklace and earrings, injecting a touch of excitement into my voice.

"How did you take this?" He smiles as he takes the necklace into his hands. It's a heart-shaped locket and the earrings are a moon and star, his eyes lighting up with delight.

"It belongs to you. He needed to give it," I say, adding a mysterious tone to my voice, sparking his curiosity further.

Lexcis's smile only grows as he opens the locket, revealing a tiny portrait of him as a child. "You're too fucking cute," I let out, unable to contain my adoration.

"Duh," he teases, turning to me with a playful smirk.

"May I?" he asks, gesturing towards the necklace.

"Sure," I nod
