Chapter 607. Read the Letter

Morana scrambles through the hallway, a guard barely had time to alert us of her arrival. "It's him!" She screams with the letter in her hand.

"Calm down, Lady Alize." Lexcis remains formal because we're standing in the hallway. "Follow us to the stateroom, will you?"

She's practically shaking and her maid behind her seems just as scared. "You should go get settled in with the others," I tell the maid and she nods, still shaking with baby Ayla in her arms.

"You can give her to me," I smile softly and she doesn't hesitate. Instantly handing the baby over. I nod at Lexcis and watch as he and Morana walk into the room.

The latter keeps her eyes on her baby but gives me a knowing look. She trusts me.

"Let's get you somewhere you can take a breath, okay?"

"Y-yes, your majesty."

I hug Ayla to my chest as we make it down the hall
