I know this is a strong response, but I feel more open to harm than usual. He did not mean to, but he touched me, and I responded.
"So you punch them in the face?" He asks with a raised eyebrow. It is the most moving I have seen him act.
I can see a small amount of blood slowly running from his nose to his chin along his lip. In a moment, Zave, Veronica, and the King are with us. Zave checks on me to make sure I am okay, while Veronica laughs at Laurence.
The King does nothing, keeping an eye on everything going on around him. I press on the bridge of my nose to calm down.
"I need to be alone."
I throw his coat at the king before I leave, a defiant parting gesture.
Exiting the train at the far end, I deliberately distance myself from others. I need to be alone; it's becoming hard for me to breathe. There are enough cars for me to secure the space I so badly need. I chose the last carriage to avoid anyon
