Swords clash against each other for the last time.

They drop to the ground.

People break out in applause.

It's over. It's finally done.

The unnecessarily long sword dance of the crowning ceremony is over. Chantel and Lexcis drop their swords and slowly step over to be crowned by me and Aldric.

I'm the only one besides the medics who know about her condition.

It's been a month.

She's two months pregnant now. There's no belly yet, so I doubt anyone can see it.

She hasn't told Lexcis. They don't even speak to each other, so that's not a new revelation. I also question the fact that she lets him touch her, so he definitely hasn't felt it, either.

Chantel's not mad at him. She understands him. She told me so herself. But he broke her trust.
