"My thing? You saw that an hour ago."

"Lexcis," she deadpans, trying to hide her smile, "You know what I mean."

"Know it, darling." After a quick kiss on the lips, she asked, "Can you walk up the steps?"

"Will you stop that? I'm not even showing, let alone actually feeling them."

"I don't care. I'll carry you if you want."

"No, thanks."

I waited a few moments, trying to be okay with her answer.

"Nope, I'm doing it."

And while she rolls her eyes, she's happy for me to take her in my arms. I walk up to our bedroom here and she's already grinning from ear to ear when she notices that the room next to us suddenly doesn't have a door anymore.

"You didn't... Not that fast... Right?" She searches my face with those golden eyes of hers.

"I did." I put her down
