Lady Eirene breaks her expressionless manner and shows us a frown, "Being loyal to a dead king is stupidity itself. He's dead. He won't applaud you or gift you for your loyalty."

"He won't," Hideo begins, "But we can still refuse to accept a king that got the throne by murder."

"He didn't get the throne by murder. The King abdicated. His death happened afterward." Lord Marin explains.

"How believable is that now, huh?" Lord Thaddeus smirks. "Besides, we don't accept the Empress either. A Revian? A bast-"

"Careful." Someone from the left side says. I glance over at Torryn Easthill. "Be really careful of how you speak about my niece. The Emperor plays fair but I don't. Do not make me slit your throat in front of your sister."
