Chapter 718. Big Girl

When I step back into the bedroom, I find Lexcis sitting on the bed with his face in his hands.

Instead of draping my arms around him like I want to do, I give him the space he said he needed. I curl into the bed, tugging the blanket over myself as I place a pillow between my legs. I'm not wearing the belt thingy when I sleep so this will have to do.

My exhaustion takes the better of me and I'm already halfway into dreamland when he gets up and goes to the shower. When he returns, I feel the bed dip as he gets into it, settling in front of me. He has his hand in my hair, tenderly brushing his fingers through the curly strands. He eventually cups my cheek, kissing my forehead and hugging me before we both fall into a deep and much-needed sleep.

The open buffet in front of me looks delicious and I have a hard time choosing what I want. That's why I don't choose at all. I just take a little bit of everything.
