Chapter 807. Sound of Water

"Angel, not now." She says, playfully tapping her fingers on the table as I scour through the bag for Fayera's adorable and tiny gloves. I grab the mint green ones and rush to put them over her hands. She rolls her eyes at me, clearly not amused. Her cries become louder and she gets angry, kicking her tiny legs in protest.

"Fayera," Chantel sighs, "Darling, you're tired. Just sleep, please." She kisses her head and keeps pacing around, her steps heavy with exhaustion.

This goes on for at least half an hour. I think even an hour... "Hand her to me, love. You should sit down."

"Okay," She breathes, slowly stepping toward me. I cup her face, kissing her forehead before taking Fayera over. My baby scrunches her body up like she always does and nuzzles her face in my neck, still crying.

"Lay down, darling. I'm going to step into the bathroom with her, okay?"
