I leave him behind, scurrying toward the bathroom to scrub my hands clean before joining Chantel again. She shouldn't see me like this. Even though she knows and she's intelligent enough to know why I dwelled behind, I don't want her to catch sight of it.

Once I've rejoined her, we bid our farewell to the Queens. Both Queen Marion and Rosalie seem reluctant, they want to say something but they don't know how. Yet, Queen Marion does it.

"We hope that Aeden doesn't go to war. We hope that your beautiful kingdom doesn't get divided into two. We're sorry but we never engage in any wars, we prefer to stay away from all of that… We-"

"I know," I say, understanding that they won't support us if or rather when the time comes. They're annoyingly pacifistic like that. "We won't ask you to do that either. I know that our people will do the sensible thing."
