Chapter 129
Pearl opened her eyes to slits and immediately noticed three things. For starters, she was lying on a very flat, hard, and cold floor. As in marble. Two, her head hurt so much that she wanted to curl up into a fetal posture. She suppressed that instinct, as well as the want to leap to her feet and flee. Three, she was no longer a ferocious wolf. Someone had dressed her up in a long white gown and slippers.

Male voices muttered above her. She pretended to be unconscious in the hopes of hearing something interesting.
"What did you do with the lady?”
"I reconnected her with her family."
"Did you ditch her?" Man One appeared enraged.
Man Two snickered. “I reunited her with them in the dungeon. ”
