Evelyn’s POV

I couldn’t move. My body felt frozen, I was shocked and still in confusion after everything Caleb had just told me.

It was as if I were trapped in a dream, one of those vivid nightmares where you know something isn’t right, but you can’t wake yourself up.

I wanted someone—anyone—to shake me, pinch me, drag me out of everything he had told me that was clouding my mind.

What Caleb said didn’t sound real. It couldn’t be. But it was.
