Luke’s POV

“What is it?” I asked, my heart was beating so fast. Thinking about the assumption of Ruth about Claire which made her shiver in fear.

“She’s pregnant,” Caleb said.

I couldn’t react right away; I mean, I was happy she was pregnant, but was the baby okay? That worried me, especially because I saw blood in her when Ruth pushed her.

“But the baby didn’t survive. Claire had a miscarriage. The doctor told us maybe because she was so stressed lately and because of the incident earlier.” Caleb explained.

“I need to be with her,” I said, “Please, Caleb. She needs me,” I said.

“Not now, Luke,” he said, “I will let you see her, but not now,” Caleb said calmly, and I believed him.

“She needed to rest first; once she feels better, I’ll let you know,” Caleb continued.
