I turned a strand of my fiery red hair around my finger as I walked beside Valerie, sighing dramatically. "I swear, if they keep treating that girl like this, she won’t last a week."

Valerie, as usual, said nothing at first. She just walked with that dangerous look of hers, her hands tucked into the pockets of her jeans. She always looked like she was on the verge of killing someone , and honestly, I loved that about her.

"It’s not our problem," she finally said, but I caught the amusement in her voice.

I huffed. "I know it’s not our problem, but still! Did you see her back? I thought her skin was going to completely peel off ! It was disgusting. Brutal. Inhumane!" I gasped dramatically. "And Eva? Sitting there like some evil queen, enjoying the show. Ugh!"<
