Author’s POV
She reaches the pack territory just as the sky starts to darken. She heaves a sigh of relief. Her legs ache and her throat burns, but she keeps walking since she was close to where she would be able to get help. The gates are still visible from here. As she got close to the gate, she stumbled heavily and her knee hit the ground hard. She felt pain flash up her leg. She gasps before she can stop herself, her palms scraping against stone. When she looks down, there’s blood.
She stays there for a moment, breathing unevenly, waiting for the pain to subside. The wolves near the gate always notice movement near their borders.
