Jairo sent for me so that I could speak with those in charge of destroying Jacob’s shelters. They were a group of young men, those who called themselves “The Twenty of Block 6.”
“There aren’t twenty of you,” I observed carefully. They were young, between twenty and twenty-five years old. Ideal for the cause. “I count almost thirty.”
“They’re new, sir,” said one of them, a young man with almost red hair and brown eyes. He was quite short for his age. But he had a beard on his face. “They joined the group yesterday when we announced that we had a mission.”
“So your group isn’t exclusive at all,” I looked at him with distrust. If that was the leader, he didn’t look very determined.
“I didn’t mean that, sir, but we have a lot of room. Those loyal to Tachje help each other. We all want to do the will of King Zack,” the boy said, in a solemn voice. “Don’t misunderstand me, we’re here to help.”
