The carriage came to a stop, and I stepped out, leaving my children with my mother and mother-in-law, along with Carmen. A tightness in my chest told me that my husband needed me now more than ever.
I found him coming towards the carriages on his horse, so splendid and strong that I stopped to admire him, even if it was just for those seconds. He looked so handsome and cold at the same time. I could tell from his eyes that something was wrong. I couldn’t help but remember our wedding, because we had both been incredulous at this forced marriage, which seemed to condemn our lives. When I first saw him, I knew that I was going to love him for the rest of my life.
He held me in his arms as I dismounted from the horse. I felt almost everything he felt, that’s how strong our connection was. His heart was becoming more fragile, something was weighing him down. I kissed his lips, without saying a word.
