There was something important I had been putting off. I felt somewhat uncomfortable, as if every second that passed would weigh on me, a feeling of persecution. Or at least that’s what I could sense about myself. It was confusing. Postponing my visit with the doctor was quite a delicate matter.

Deep down, I was very afraid that he would tell me that something was wrong with me. The feeling that I was being cornered from all sides. A kind of anxiety.

“I’m so delighted by this surprise,” I smiled, looking at Jacob with bright eyes.

When Eussim left, the four of us stayed together, resting, as if it were a vacation from the war. I smiled, stretching my back and cuddling up with my family. I felt at home, even though we weren’t exactly in our home, I felt like I was with them and they were my safe place. A family, our family.
