“He just abandoned us,” Lucero stammered, looking around for him everywhere.

“Not what you were expecting, was it?” I asked with a hint of sarcasm. It was nice to know that others felt the same way I did.

“Are you kidding me?” Chris asked, interrupting and pushing Lucero aside. “This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He’s amazing.”

Chris was smiling as if he had witnessed the greatest wonder. I opened my eyes wide, surprised by his response. It made a bit of sense; he was just as chaotic as Tachje. I watched Sallie, who was spinning around, searching, and had an optimistic sense of humor. Both of them seemed to live in a fantasy world where all these adventures made them feel amused. I frowned in disapproval.

“No. It’s not. A deity, a creature like him… should be more responsible.” Lucero crossed her arms, visibly upset.

Chris made a mocking face.

“When he comes back, then tell him.” He smiled, which made her even angrier.<
