As I stood by the window, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of dread within me. I felt that something bad was going to happen to Fabricio. It was our connection that made me perceive this kind of chaotic emotion. From the moment we got married, from our first meeting, I knew that Fabricio and I would always be united by something more than just marriage.

I loved him, I loved him so much that I could understand anything he did. I understood that the rest hated him, but I would always love him.

Now, I trusted that he would come back to me.

“Countess. Don’t you think we should look for the count?” asked William, my husband’s most loyal soldier, almost a friend to us.

“No. He will come with me.” I replied immediately, clinging to the balcony railing.

Soon I would have to limit myself to just looking from inside the tower or I would raise suspicions. I didn’t like acting like a criminal.

“But Countess… The queen will ask why t
