Even though I didn’t say it with words, it was extremely hard for me to leave Dove in the room. It was always a titanic task to trust that she would be okay. This damn palace didn’t give me any kind of security. Anything could happen here.
What happened with Karl gave me a clue about something I was trying to ignore. The enemy could infiltrate among us with great ease. I had wanted to ignore that possibility so as not to be paranoid. If I became paranoid then the others would lose their strength. Security was the hallmark of a king. I couldn’t falter.
