Jacob took me to our room to have the doctor check that everything was in order. I urgently needed one of my pregnancy checkups because I had overexerted myself a lot.

“Rest. You’ll tell me later what happened,” Jacob said, kissing me firmly and hugging me.

“At this point, my love, I think we’ll tell each other everything that happens every day when we’re old and bored,” I smiled, squinting my eyes. I was tired, too tired.

It was as if time was passing very quickly and I was very slow. An observer, that’s how I felt now. I lay down on the bed and curled up in a corner trying to calm the nausea from the hunger I was feeling.

They would bring me food soon. I also asked for my children to be here in a moment. They were probably playing. Carmen would come in with them soon through that door, I was sure of that. Although so many things had happened. Carmen should have stayed with them when she got here and saw things get out of control all of a sudden.
