“On the count of three…” I said, ready to put everything we’d planned into action.

Fayz’s presence helped us find the castle’s secret passages, making it easier to infiltrate. He was the only one with a familiar face, after all; he had the most to hide. Even more than Sallie. We managed to reach the castle’s basement cellars, where wine and food were once stored. But now, we had to breach the first wall. That wouldn’t be easy.

On the other side, we could climb the stairs to one of the main towers. Outside, we could hear the sound of soldiers mounting guard. If we weren’t careful, they’d surround us. We didn’t want to run into Plettekman.
