Chapter 47. More It Hurts to Bite
Meow ran up to Winston, meowing at him once before he let out a sigh of relief: "They're gone now? Good. Those damn wolves, just a moment ago they scratched me so viciously..." As he finished speaking, his tense body suddenly relaxed and he broke out into a sweat. He had been caught off guard by the sudden wolf attack, and had only managed to use the teleportation spell of the Cat Tribe in the nick of time, in an effort to minimize his injuries. But it had cost him a tremendous amount of energy. If the wolves had chosen to stay and continue fighting him, he doubted he could have lasted much longer.
In truth, dealing with these young wolves posed no real threat to Winston. But tonight, the wolves attacking Emily were the most cunning of the pack, and his attention had been divided due to his efforts to protect her. This had resulted in his current predicament.
