I woke up to the soothing sounds of seagulls and waves crashing against the shore. It was almost eleven, the perfect time to wake up when you're on vacation. I had made up my mind to skip any early morning activities, although I must admit that yesterday had been quite enjoyable.

As I emerged from the room, bathed and dressed, Ruby's voice greeted me. "He lives," she exclaimed from where she sat. "I thought you'd never wake up."

"Hey! I thought we were free this morning," I replied, slightly amused by her surprise.

"We are, but the last thing I expected was for you to sleep like the dead. I checked on you twice just to make sure you were alive."

"Ha, she cares if I live or die," I said, feigning offense.

"It's none of my business if you die, but please do it when I'm not around," she retorted, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
