Chapter 108

Author’s POV

The sun was setting over the forest as Minnie made her way back to the pack. She had been out exploring all day and was looking forward to a cozy evening in the den with her Alexa, Cassandra wasn’t back from the hunt for the item they seek. Suddenly she spotted Alexa sitting in a clearing, her head hung low.

Mini walked over to her and asked, “Hey, you ok?”

Alexa looked up and shook her head. “No, not really,” she replied.

“What’s wrong?” Minnie asked, sensing that something was troubling her friend.

“It’s my mother,” Alexa said, her voice barely above a whisper. “She’s not responding to the treatments”

Minnie sat down next to Alexa and listened as she poured out her troubles. She knew how much Alexa’s mom meant to her. Given that she was the only family she had left was a factor and also the loss pad her brother.

“I don’t know how to deal with this,” Alexa admitted, tears streaming down her face.
