Gabriel’s POV
The air had lost its freshness and was filled with the fresh tempting familiar smell of unclothed blood. The entire place had lost whatever look of serene it had left. It was now a wasteland. Not a wasteland in the sense that it was dry and incapable of growing grasses, but a wasteland in the sense that it was dominated by wasted life and body. Wasted bodies that once had life in them. Wasted lives that once belonged to bodies that were once filled with life. That once belonged to great wolves or wolves that were destined for greatness or wolves that just merely aimed for greatness or even wolves that were seeking greatness.
My pack was the biggest in Riverdale and it was no surprise that a lot of packs if not all of them envied the Abode and would one day like to be occupants of it. Hence, it was not so hard to imagine why we would get attacked, it was not also hard to imagine why even though they seemed to fail, they kept sending us more invaders
