One of the larger pups, a tan-furred female named Lua, spoke up hesitantly. "W-We didn't mean any harm, Alpha. We were just exploring the willow grove like we've done lots of times before."
Juan shot her a stern look. "You know you're not supposed to go off alone, especially after nightfall. The forest can be very dangerous."
Lua's ears flattened contritely. "I know, I know. But Kiba was telling us about a raccoon den he found there, and we wanted to see if we could dig them out to practice hunting."
Sofia stopped and rounded on the pups, her expression grave. "Lua, you allowed Kiba's mischief to put you all in harm's way tonight. You're one of the oldest and should know better."
The young wolf ducked her head, thoroughly chastised. "You're right, Alpha. I made a poor decision and I accept any punishment you decree."
