Chapter 41. Alexander Meets His Babies

“Let them come in, Alex,” said his mom. Alexander came to his senses and helped Serenity with the strollers. She came inside shyly and sat down in the living room while his mom poured over Alexa and Adriel, cooing at them, making them gurgle with pleasure.

“Oh, aren’t they cute? They must be quite a handful,” she said, picking up Alexa in her arms, but Alexander took Alexa from her arms and held her to his chest nervously so as not to hurt her.

“She’s so tiny. What’s her name?” he asked, slowly rocking Alexa as she snuggled into his chest, evoking a strange connection inside Alexander towards her.

“Alexa.” Serenity’s cheeks coloured a little as she wondered if he would understand the connection! Alexander looked at her, and then at Alexa, in confusion. Was it a coincidence that she looked like him and had a name matching his? He would have asked her when they were alone.
