Chapter 30
"No way! Your mom made you wear a bunny costume to cheer your aunt up?" I laugh at the thought of Spencer in a bunny costume, I can imagine how flustered he must have felt. Too bad we couldn't be there to see it.
We are done with the ribsteak and after leaving the dishes for Megan to take care of, I join Spencer on the couch as we catch up.
"She had a good laugh though but she was really happy I did it just to make her smile," he muses.
"She's really lucky to have a nephew like you."
"I'm actually the only nephew she has so she's—" his phone starts ringing, cutting him off. "Hold on a sec," he says to me as he fetches his phone from his pocket. He cringes slightly when he sees the caller.
"Hey mom," he drawls.
"Spencer!" I hear her yell and he grimaces. I doubt the phone's on speaker; his mom can be really loud especially when she's upset.
