Chapter 67

"Can you speed up a bit, sir?" I ask the cab driver as I lean forward from my seat. I am so going to be late to Miranda's big match. I finished from my shoot late and asked everyone to go without me, something I am now regretting. I could really use Carl's speed right now.

Thankfully, the driver speeds up a bit and I lean back in my seat with a sigh. Few minutes later, we arrive at Big Joe's gym and I pay him before rushing inside. I am met by my friends, and Carl.

"Where have you been, girl? You missed the whole match!" Sandra tells me.

"What?" I ask exasperatedly.

"Yeah, it ended about two minutes ago. Miranda's in the locker room getting changed and she's pretty upset that you didn't show up," Olive says.

"Did she win?"

"Yeah, but at the dying minute though. The match was so intense!"

Good. At least Miranda would be in a better mood considering the fact that she won. I can't believe I broke my promise.
