Chapter 44. Dreadmaw’s Ultimatum
Celeste’s POV
Before I could even blink, the wolfman stepped through the gaping hole he’d torn in the wall—and suddenly he was right in front of me. What sort of power was this? Never in my life had I witnessed a werewolf move with such blinding speed. The shock of it froze me in place.
All of the other Alphas—my fellow pack leaders—instinctively backed away from him, clearing the space around his hulking figure. Only Eryndor and I remained at his side, unable or unwilling to retreat further.
“Y—You…” Eryndor stammered, trying to rise to his feet. But before he could fully register what was happening, the wolfman’s boot slammed into him with bone-shattering force. Eryndor went flying through the doorway, crashing headlong into the rubble outside with a sickening thud.
