Chapter 47. Captured by Wolfmen
Eryndor’s POV
I had just finished fighting one of the Dreadmaw pack’s wolf‐men, and it was unlike any opponent I’d ever faced. This creature stood on two legs, moved with preternatural speed, and its attack patterns were nothing like a normal wolf’s. To make matters worse, I was already nursing wounds from my last encounter with the Alphas. In the midst of all that chaos, I couldn’t help but wish they’d given me more time to consider their proposition.
They wanted me to convince the Sun Order either to enter into an alliance with the Northern werewolves or to destroy humanity’s entire store of wolfsbane—the one substance that could reliably fend off their kind. Both options seemed impossible. Persuading the Order of the Sun to side with wolves would meet with outright refusal, and annihilating the wolfsbane reserves would amount to high treason. Either choice risked condemning me.
