Chapter 9
I turned away and eyed up my exit route, then glanced back at everyone else. I was mentally working out if I could outrun them all. I knew I could kick Austin in the balls and give myself a good few seconds to get away from him, but I wasn’t sure if I could outrun a pack of wolves. I’d seen Chase's pack shift and it took anywhere from thirty seconds to a minute or two, depending on the person. I hadn’t seen my dad's pack shift; so, I could only guess that they’d take around the same time. How far could I get in that time? I was a fast runner, but was I fast enough? I couldn’t be sure, but I knew it was worth a try. I took in a deep breath and faced my brother.
“Please forgive me, Austin.”
“Huh? For what …” I pulled my leg back, then shot it forward, plunging my knee right into his crown jewels. “Argh!!! What the fuck!?” He cried out while cradling his nuts in his hands, before collapsing to the floor with a thud.
