When night fell again, they found an abandoned hut and decided to spend the night there. At dawn, they were startled awake by the sound of trumpets and neighing horses. They looked through the crack in the door and discovered that they were surrounded. There was nowhere to run. They hugged each other in defeat for a moment and, separating, drew their swords. They would fight to the death. They would never let anyone take them alive. It was at that moment that a trapdoor opened from the ground, where there seemed to be nothing, and Guinarvy appeared.

"Don't do that! Come with me!"

Luza looked at Kildar askance, for he seemed to know the young woman and yet had never heard him refer to her.

"I'll explain later! Come on, we don't have much time." And together they climbed down the trapdoor and followed the girl through a narrow labyrinth.

"This labyrinth won't take us very far from your pursuers, but it will give us a
