Chapter 140. The Dark Glass

When Giovanna got into the jeep, Luc was already inside, wearing sunglasses, and didn't say a word, just driving in silence.

At first, Giovanna approved of the silence, but the journey became tiring after a while, and she decided to try to start a conversation.

“How long until we reach our destination?” She asked, trying to appear indifferent.

“A few hours.” Was Luc's dry reply.

Giovanna glared at him, but Luc seemed focused on the road.

"I thought you wanted to be alone with me to win me over? Your art of silent seduction will have no effect on me." She said wryly.

Luc didn't turn his attention away from the road. His thoughts were on where he needed to go. He put on his glasses so that she wouldn't notice that his eyes were yellow. He needed to follow directions to find the town where Caio lived.

After being ignored, Giovanna closed her eyes and felt the pleasant desert wind touch her face and fell asleep.
