Chapter 45. Happiness Always Returns

Samah felt the difference in the way Calleb treated her. He didn't just look for her in the dark of the bedroom as before, where he just groped her body, as if he needed to believe that it was someone else lying in her place. Now he also looked for her during the day and always looked into her eyes as they loved each other. And her pleasure was much greater.

The full moon arrived and her hunger for the human heart turned into an obsession that was hard to resist. She didn't know how to say it to Calleb without ending the feeling of complicity and desire between them, which had set in after Giovanna's tea.
