Chapter 53. True Origin (2024 BC)

Calleb didn't move when Giovanna left without saying another word. She was right. He wasn't yet ready to know Giovanna's last request. Nor was he ready to know everything she had put into his mind when she touched him and made him see. He paced back and forth in the basement. His head filled with images that she had described and others that she had shown him. He stopped. He couldn't keep it all to himself. He needed to talk to someone about it. Someone else needed to know that story in the future. And stop all the plagues.

He heard slow footsteps coming down the basement stairs and waited.
