Chapter 52. A Cold Farewell

Giovanna went into the bathroom and gathered up all her personal belongings. As she absent-mindedly took her things out of the drawer, she suddenly saw herself in the mirror, and although she was familiar with her image, this time there was something different. She was supposed to be happy, but her eyes burned with disappointment. She shook her head and looked away. She had no reason to be disappointed. Theo was perfect. Not as her friends always described it, but it was good. She stopped again and looked at herself in the mirror. No. She wasn't disappointed in Theo. She was disappointed in herself. For some unknown reason, she felt she had done something very bad. Something she would regret very soon.
