Chapter 55. Ingratitude

Hektor and Anchan exchanged worried glances, oblivious to what was going on in Giovanna's mind.

"That... It can't be good, Giovanna. Akon has my essence. We're not the same, but our essence is the same. He'll turn your desire against you." Anchan said seriously.

"Like you did to me?" Hektor asked hurt.

"I'm sorry." Anchan said without looking away from Giovanna.

"I had no choice. I didn't want to see you die and I didn't want to say goodbye to Calleb..."

Giovanna felt a pain in her shoulder at that moment and fell to her knees on the floor. When she looked up to see what had happened, she saw Tiliá's furious eyes staring at her. She was wearing an old, torn white dress.

"Tiliá? Where were you?" Giovanna asked as she stood up and moved her shoulders in an attempt to make the pain stop.

"I was discovering everything I could do within our limits."
