Chapter 29
Delaney
"I..." Elias stammered, holding Nyra on his side.
"Is something wrong with my wolf, Maribel?" I asked, there was no other explanation for the pulsing warm feeling. It had started the moment Elias walked in, that had to mean something.
Maribel sighed, brushing her hand over her apron. "I know it's hard to make sense of what you are feeling right now. But don't you think we should first give Elias and Nyra time?"
I didn't say a word as I walked out, my head almost bursting with a bombardment of questions. Maribel was right behind me, calling my name.
"Are you going to tell me anything about what I felt back there?" I asked, stopping a step away from the bifurcated staircase. At that moment, I could feel the warmth being replaced by some heat, so subtle but still detectable.
