Chapter 103. So Bothered
"Do not come out of the house when you are alone, okay?" Marie reminded Trisha as she was already sitting on the passenger's seat and her eyes subconsciously flew to the neighbor's window.
"Don't worry, I won't," Trisha hovered on the window to peek a look at Carl. "Drive her home safely, Mister Bates. And thanks again, Mrs. Bates, ahh, sorry. I mean, Miss Lewis," Trisha said playfully.
Carl suppressed his laughter while Marie shook her hand before her face as if waving a buzzing bee away. Trisha laughed merrily at Marie and Carl's reactions while watching the tail lights of the car move away from the yard. She went into the house in a hurry when they were no longer in her sight.
In the car... Marie was asked for her address and she told Carl without delay. Then she opened a serious conversation with the man in the driver's seat.
"Carl, I have something to ask," Marie's tone became too formal to take her words as a joke so Carl responded accordingly.
