Chapter 53. Dimitri

Dimitri's POV

The last thing I ever wanted was a mate. I had always believed that if I found my mate, I would reject her. If I was unable to reject her due to the pull of the mate bond, I would simply have someone kill her and be done with all of that nonsense.

When my mother was taken and tortured, my father lost his mind. A mate is a liability to an Alpha and a weakness that could destroy him. We saw this happen with my father. I cannot afford to have a weakness in my armor in the form of a mate.

And then... she danced right into my life.

When I saw her at the club, my wolf Dom, actually tried to fight me for control. He wanted to run over and scent her. She was beautiful but young, I liked my women more experienced. I'm twenty--six and have enjoyed many mistresses in my years, but never had a real relationship.
